The runaway greenhouse effect is a dead planet Earth like Venus. The fact is that the only world energy plan there is, is to carry on as we are and burn all the fossil fuels.
The CEOs and directors of these large powerful corporations know that continuing on with world fossil fuel economic growth means the end of humanity and most (if not all) life.
How can they be committing such an evil?
They are not being stopped or even help accountable. Governments support them and even give them subsidies to continue increasing their fossil fuel production.
The world economy, controlled by the global banking corporations, remains designed to encourage fossil fuel use and fossil fuel energy growth.
The investors and corporations could make good profits from developing the zero carbon energy age and the world economy can grow on zero carbon energy.
However the huge exponentially increasing rate of industrial output by staying on increasing fossil fuel industrial output (until civilization collapses) is for the time being more than from switching to zero carbon energy.

In the New Policies Scenario, the world is on a trajectory that results in a level of emissions consistent with a long -term average temperature increase of more than 3.5°C. Without these new policies, we are on an even more dangerous track, for a temperature increase of 6°C or more (by 2100).

In its 2010 world energy outlook the IEA had said that peak over had passed in 2006 and the days of cheap oil were over. However that meant the end of easy to get oil, not the end of oil production, which would maintain output from unconventional sources, such as tar sands and shale oil.
